significant scenes from the Passover seder are
the design elements for this seder plate.
The plate is the shape of a tambourine, honoring Miriam and the women
who danced and sang as
they crossed the red sea.
Across the sea of glass forming the top
of the plate, we see
moses and aaron managing the crossing, rod held high.
around the side are the burning bush,
the parting red sea,
the ten commandments, the ark of the covenant with other temple
objects, and finally, in the last panel, we read the Hebrew word
"Israel" held high above a very special piece of matzo*.
